So much to write! We've just spent 3 days camping on Fraser island getting around in a crazy 4x4 van, sadly they didnt let me drive cos you have to be 21 but it was probably a good thing cos the blokes in our group seemed to know what they were doing and we didnt flip the car like so many have done before. We spent a lot on time cruising up and downt the 60 mile beach on the island, looking at whales, tiger sharks, dolphins and turtles, and avioliding the tides which kept trying to strand us. We camped on the beach too where we had some fairly close calls with the local dingoes which enjoy surprising you while you're tring to pee, no ideal. But at least we didnt see any spiders. The rest of the time we spenddriving on the inland tracks between the beautiful freshwater lakes on the island which have beautiful white beaches around them. we also introduced the others to ultimate frisbee which was a good laugh. Met some great people and I've kind of been converted to camping. Downside of course was hearing abtou the bombs in london, we had no means of communication and only heard by word of mouth from some fishermen which was obviously pretty scary for the people we were with who had famililes in london, luckily everyone seems to be ok. Off to the Whitsundays next!
