Just spent a great 24 hours on magnetic island, so called beacuse captain cook's compass was going all wrong when he discovered it. It's a small place but you get the feeling that it's tourist industry is sadly expanding rapidly though it's a national park so it shoudl be ok. We stayed in some cool little huts at the YHA and ate the best thai curry I've ever had. We didnt really have enough time and I'd love to go back for longer but we did a small hike over a hill to a quiet beach with lots of naked old men on. Nice. I'll try and upload some more photos when we get to cairns in a few days.
