Hello everyone,

Our next stop on our trip up north was a town called Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Here we stayed in a really nice apartment at a backpackers which we shared with another couple but as we saw so little of them we pretty much had it to ourselves. On our first night we chilled out, had some beers and watched TV.

In the morning we went for an explore along the beach. Annoyingly we'd wanted to get some more surfing in but the weather was a bit miserable and the sea was 'closed' for some reason. After lunch we had a look around the town. Surfers Paradise is quite a touristy, holiday town with high rise buildings running alongside a nice big beach. To be honest I wouldn't really call it a surfers paradise compared with a lot of the other beaches in Australia but it is still a nice place with a lot going on. We enjoyed looking around all the surf shops and tourist shops where Ryan looked very fetching in an Australian cork hat.

The next day we woke up to glorious sunshine as it was the day we were travelling and couldn't go surfing, but oh well!
