Today was a great day, even though it was raining literally all day. I went and had lunch with my host family from the exchange, and then went to Komae (where I'm staying) Festival.
It was really nice to see my host family again, Takahiro is a lot taller and looks a lot older, probably like me. It really doesn't feel like two years ago that i was staying with them. They made me Tonkatsu which was fantastic and then we played a soccer game on PS3 for the rest of the afternoon. They also showed me this magazine article in Tamagawa magazine I think, that had a picture of me with Takahiro and his friend in an English class I think and apparently that same photo was in Japan Airlines in flight magazine for a while as well.
After that, I went to Komae festival which was just a little thing in the end because it was raining, but it was really fun. Everyone was extremely welcoming. As soon as I got there, they gave me traditional festival clothing which is a really big deal, and gave me a lot of free food. The festival itself was really interesting because of how traditional it was. They had games like Japanese Yoyo, which is basically a waterballoon tied to a rubber band, and one where u got a net made out of paper and wire and then you tried to catch as many goldfish as you could before it breaks, i got seven. One of them Eriko's sister Arisa, has named Michael. We met this really cute little girl called Yuka, who asked me when we met if i spoke Japanese, I said a bit, and then she said oh so you can't speak Japanese. From a girl who's 8 it was really funny. She also said that if she won the lottery then she would buy a castle. Oh and I think she caught about 15 fish.
By the end of the festival everyone was quite drunk and I had some really good and funny conversations with people. The guy who was running the Japanese Yoyo part came up to me a few times saying "Japanese Yoyo, let's go, let's go", "Japanese Yoyo ... don't forget" on of these occasions he kissed my hand.
When we left in the taxi everyone was still in the process of packing up but they still all gathered around to say goodbye which was really nice.
When we got home Eriko's dad had just got in to Tokyo from Italy so I got to meet him when he got back. He is a really nice person, within the first half an hour of meeting him he offered to loan me his camera which is really good. It's really nice of him.
