Today was a bit annoying really. I got woken up by some very unwelcomed rain at about 8am which didn't stop raining until about 1pm. It was basically lightly drizzling all day though. Despite waking up at around 8, I didn't leave the hostel until about 11 because of the rain. I hadn't bought any food from the supermarket yet so I had nothing to eat until I went out at 11 to buy something. It was still quite a fun morning. I just chilled in the kitchen while Gabriel and Martin (the Argentinian guys) played guitar. Josie was down there as well so we both got to give requests to mainly Gabriel for songs. I guess he noticed the coldplay shirt I was wearing because he asked me if I liked them, what my favourite song was etc. Then he played clocks. But that got us talking about what kind of music we both liked and they both had quite a similar taste to me. Then Gabriel started playing some of the songs of the bands we were just talking about which was quite cool. But then he played something else that sounded really cool so I asked him what it was and he said it was a song from his band. The band is called "Universo Parallelo" (Parallel Universe). They haven't got a record label yet but they are going to start looking next year. I got his email and he's going to send me their tracks once they get them recorded. He said that they have about 10 of their own songs now. I had a bit of a play on the guitar after that.
I was talking to both Josie and the Argentinian guys about going to Lahaina and Kahului for the day. But because of the rain, we didn't end up getting out until about 2 and it takes about an hour and a half to get to Lahaina. So I ended up just getting a lift with Lena (the receptionist from the hostel) with Argentinian guys to the mall in Kahului and then they got the bus through to Lahaina but I just stayed and had a look around the mall for a new skateboard, surfboard and laptop, but I couldn't find any that suited me. I wanted to have more of a look around Kahului but there was only a bus back to Paia every hour and a half and there was nothing else really in walking distance so I ended up just heading back to Paia. Once I got back I just went to the hostel and had a chat to Josie for a while and then went out to the local organic pizza place called flatbread whick (highly recommended by my cab driver) with her for dinner. We got a large half pepporoni sausage and olives, half pork. It was really good. I had another really nice conversation with Josie as well.
After that I just went back to the hostel and Josie went to a party for her friend's graduation. I had a chat with a few people for a while but then they left and I got bored so I ended up going out to a bar, but once I got about 3/4 of the way there I realised that its probably 21 and over just to get in. I ran in to Josie and her friend on the way there as well. I tried to get into the bar still but no luck, so I just went back to the hosel. Josie and her friend were waiting for me to come back I think so I ended up walking back with them and then having a chat with Josie again before we both went to bed.
