We only just crossed into Germany before we found a camp to stay in, it was in a city called Neuenburg.
Here we had only just ridden the bike into the camping area when an older German couple came over to talk to us, the wife could speak better English than the husband, but it was still limited.
They were amazed to hear about our travels and it became a little embarrassing when they would tell others about us. The camp had a restaurant where we had dinner, our new German friends were even telling the staff about us.
We only stayed in the camp overnight before heading up to Rottenburg to see friends we had met in 2012. It was a fantastic reunion. For the next couple of days they spoiled us rotten.
A highlight was being taken to Lichenstein Castle, not related to the country which is Liechtenstein. Like the country though, the castle is very small, we were told it was the smallest in Europe. This castle is perched on top of a cliff 250 meters above the town below.
On leaving our friends we headed north to a city called Sinsheim where we visited the most amazing Auto & Technik Museum, Europe's largest private technology museum. It was just incredible, it had everything from steam locomotives, to the first car, to the Concorde and the equivalent Russian Tupolev 144, and everything in between.
We spent most of the day in there and it still wasn't long enough, so they have a hotel as part of the complex so you can stay overnight if you want.
By now the weather was getting hot, 38° with high humidity, so the next day we spent in the shade of our camp, or in the pool.
From Sinsheim we were heading south again to friends in Burgberg, but on the way we would be calling through Rottenburg again to pickup Michael's glasses that he left behind!

Eric Leuschner Neat looking museum. If you ever get back to the US, the National Air & Space Museum at the Dulles Airport outside Washington DC also has a Concorde as well some other spectacular planes and spacecraft. Hope you recovered your glasses!
Eric Leuschner Wow! Beautiful! Sue’s first reaction was “Can we go there?” I told her yes but we can’t drive the van there (shipping a van would be expensive) so maybe European delivery of a Volvo? Hmmm...
