What a great few days it has been! We made our way to Dades Gorge, which has amazing red rock formations and steep cliffs with Berbere villages situated throughout. We found a great guesthouse to stay in, Berbere de la Motagne where we have been looked after incredibly well. We were given lovely breakfasts and dinners of delicious regional food and were looked after so well by the owner. We also had a young Moroccan guy working there play drums for us and teach us, he was really good!
On the first day we had a guide, Mohammed take us to a nearby village and show us around. We saw one of the ladies loom and the beautiful carpets she made and met lots of cute kids. The next day Mohammed took us on a day walk over the hills to visit the caves that the nomads use. We had mint tea with a mother and her three daughters in one of the caves before walking down a very steep and narrow gorge that required lots if rock hopping. We saw a shepherd and his herd of goats. An amazing time!
