I feel absolutely miserable right now, but that's mainly because nature reared up and bite me in the rear. On a more noteable note, I went to Atlanta today to the Japanese Consolate, it was a long and amusing drive. I don't like venturing forth into Atlanta alone so my friend of 7+ years went with me. Jackie and I left Warner Robins around 9am, and didn't get to the Consolate until 11am. Which is decent time.
I hate Atlanta driving. I really do, it makes me ill. All the idiots who don't know how to use a blinker or those who just change lanes because I apprently have ESP and didn't know it. Oye. But no harm done, just the nerves were a tad frayed. But I got there, gave my papers to the lovely lady behind the window and she sent me on my way with the question: "You come back tomorrow?"
I said, "Yes ma'am," and thanked her before walking out. It took all of 5 minutes and me inwardly groaning thinking I have to make this trip AGAIN? for anther 5 minute stint? What a waste of gas. Really.
But me and Jackie went to lunch at TGIFridays and enjoyed a wonderful meal, harrassed Andrea on the phone because she was getting ready for training for being an RA, generally we had fun.
The drive back was LONG. I had to stop and stretch or else I would have fallen asleep - like Jackie did. So we stoped got a snack and stretched then hopped back on the road. We got home a little after two.
I fixed Jim's back pack - and for those of you who don't know Jim (which would be MOSTLY everyone), Jim is the teddy bear of Jackie who is going to be traveling with me to Japan. I'll probably have a seperate photo ablum with pictures of Jim and his adventrues.
When I go back for my shots toward the end of the month I'm going to see if the nurse will humor me in giving Jim his shots so he doesn't get 'ill' either, at least he won't be alone! Brown Bear will also be traveling with us, unfortunatley Brown Bear is very old and will be staying in doors much of the time protecting the home front with his wizened old self (he's 21 you know!). And I'll probably also make up a VERY obvious fake passport and visa for Jim so he can have all his paper work in order to board the plane.
Suddenly there is much to prepare for and little time! Oh well, I'll have an update for you all tomorrow when I actually RECIEVE MY VISA! WHOA!
And guess what? : 28 more days!! (If I do a count down I'm going to make myself sick really... I'll get to excited.)
But until tomorrow stay genki(Happy/healthy)!
