Today we planned to have a lazy day by the pool so when we woke up Daniel went to put our towels on a lounger as they get taken really quickly. We headed to breakfast at our resort and as i was feeling a little hungover and not hungry i went for a fruit salad and a mango shake. Unfortunately i couldn't eat even half of it but ate all the watermelon in the hope it would make me feel a little better.
Once we had finished our breakfast and walked passed the pool we saw that someone had taken our towels off the loungers and put their stuff down in replacement but no one was on them. This annoyed us so much and we said that they "clearly aren't british" so we went back to the room to drop off our flip flops and head back. We took our towels off the railings and stood by another chair type thing. We then saw the Chinese couple next to our loungers grab their stuff off and leave, and too damn right! What a bloody cheek! So we put our towels back on the loungers with a cushion and began to soak up the sun. There were a few people in the pool practicing their diving as one end of the pool is really, really deep.
We were positioned in a spot which was half shade and half sun, perfect as i can't go in the pool because of my infected bite, the waterproof plasters don't seem to help very much as the water seems to seep through anyway. Dan nipped to the shop for some drinks and got me a strawberry flavoured milk to drink as well as book a snorkelling trip for the both of us to go on tomorrow, this cost us 750B each and would take us to around 4 different spots around the island. I went into the room a few times to cool down a bit and chill out but came back to see dan by the pool. He is engrossed in his new book "The Game of Thrones".
After a while of lazing about half sunbathing, half cooling down, i went back to the room to shower and have a joint as i can't drink because of the antibiotics. Dan came and met me and we got ready to meet Jackie, Eddie and Beth for some dinner. The plan was to get to their bungalow at around 19:00 and head to somewhere on the beach for dinner. As we were chilling on the porch before we left the cutest cat came to say hi, we called her storm as she is almost all white with beautiful blue eyes. There are two cats that look like this on the resort but at first we thought they were the same one!
As we were approaching their bungalow, we noticed the lights were off and thought maybe they had gone already but we heard a faint sound of music so went onto the porch to investigate and there we found jackie fast asleep on the hammock in the dark playing music on her phone. We called to her to try and wake her up, poked her as well as took advantage of the moment and photographed her while she was sleeping. She finally woke up and told us about what she got up to at castle party once we left. Turns out she got home at 11:00 this morning as she stayed at the club till 06:00 then went home with the barmaids to chill out.
Eddie and beth then appeared out of nowhere and once jackie had properly woken up and changed we headed towards the beach to find a spot to eat. We ended up going in a place daniel and i were sunbathing near yesterday as they have something for everyone. The restaurant definitely looked a lot nicer on the inside as the ceiling was really tall with nice wooden panels running along with pretty lights. I fancied something western, oh i forgot i got a toastie on the way to their bungalow from 7/11 as i was marving by now, so i went for a cheeseburger and fries and daniel had a chicken masala curry, jackie went for penang curry, beth had chilli beef wraps which looked amazing and Eddie got the same as me.
Once we had all finished and paid, Jackie headed back to the bungalow as she was still really hungover while Eddie, Beth, Dan and I went to our resort as they said they have to leave their bungalow tomorrow and wanted to check out other places so we all walked together. I felt like a bit of an estate agent as i showed them the pool and led them to our room and dan was laughing at me about it. While we were all there we decided to have a spliff together outside on our porch which i rolled as always!
It was really nice just chatting in the quiet, peacefulness of our hotel. Beth was making me laugh as she was so high and just kept chatting and chatting and said she feels dizzy and how she likes it. She is from manchester and told us how it is to work as a red coat and it's shocking! The audition process is so cruel and mean, they only get minimum wage and the on site accommodation for staff is over crowded and filthy! I honestly expected more from Butlins!
The plan later was to check out the ladyboy cabaret show which starts at 22:30 and we got a bit carried away with chilling and chatting because when we checked the time it was already 22:20 so we quickly got up and headed down to the show. I had to pop into the pharmacy quickly for more plasters then we all walked down the small side street where we heard loud music and were greeted by fabulous looking lady boys who invited us inside and found a table on the side to sit by. There is no entrance fee but you each have to buy a drink which i thought was a smashing deal until i saw the menu, 80B for a can of iced tea, and 150B for a small bottle of beer; extortionate!
It was very busy in the venue with customers and staff and soon enough the show began, a lady boy dressed as jennifer lopez came on stage with an array of backing dancers who were skinny gay thai boys. The lip syncing was awful, she was miming to "on the floor" but it was dreadful, i couldn't concentrate on much more than how bad a job she was doing! The other acts included a number from the film burlesque as well as the highlight: nicki minaj. A small thai lady boy was painted darker brown and wore a catsuit with an exaggerated bum and boobs as she pranced around twerking and still getting the lyrics wrong. The boys left to go to 7/eleven for a hit of air conditioning while beth and i stayed watching the show. They picked on a bloke sitting at the front to go on stage and had the lady boys dancing all over him which was funny to watch. When the boys got back we left not too long after as it was really hot and there wasn't a fan reaching us so we walked through the dim lit cabaret bar out to the exit.
When we left the cabaret, we walked down to the beach bars where we sat down at a place called cancun to watch a fire show. We were sat on plastic chairs right on the front and watched as a small boy who couldn't be older than 10 spun sticks of fire around and chucked them up in the air. There was a drunk woman who approached him and took hold of the fire stick and began spinning it either side of her body which made me panic! She was drunk and she could have easily dropped it or thrown it in mu direction considering how close we were! The tide came in quite a lot as well. The same drunk woman came to talk to me and egg me on to have a go of fire twirling or the limbo but i said no chance. We carried on chatting and it turns out she's a dentist and we spoke about my open bite and jaw surgery and even created a new dance move which involves flossing your teeth. After a good chat with lizzy the scottish, drunk dentist dan and i went back to the hotel as we have to be up early for our snorkelling trip tomorrow. On the way back we stopped off at a food stall for some fried rice with chicken before heading back to eat it and sleep.
