We are all leaving Koh phangan today to head to Koh Samui. We didn't book the ticket from the hotel as it is extortionate but booked a taxi from them to take us to the pier. It was quite stressful packing as there was stuff everywhere! But we managed to find all of our things and pack them together before dragging our bags outside. Eddy, Beth, Daniel and Jacky went into town on the bikes so she could buy new speakers as her ones broke last night which meant i was alone with mohammed. I sat outside the room on my ipad and we talked for a while until he went off on a wonder about and in the pool.
They came back around 40 minutes later and so we all sat on the beach to grab some food before our taxi came for us. I had the same i always do, scrambled eggs, sausage and toast and daniel had omelette and rice. Once we had all finished and paid, including the drinks we took from the mini bar we sat outside the room until the small man came to take us to the pier. They had gone to the pier earlier in the morning when they went to get the speakers and bought our boat tickets so when we got dropped off we just had to check in and then went to 7:eleven where i got a yoghurt and a bottle of M150. God knows what mohammed was going to do, we left him at the hotel.
We walked down to the pier and awaited our boat. It was very hot and so we were all sweating buckets while waiting in the sun. When the boat pulled up, jacky and daniel sat downstairs as they found it too hot while me, eddy and beth sat on the sundeck where we began talking to a columbian woman. She said that she was travelling with her friend until he got drunk and started to touch her inappropriately so she said she just went on her own. She had a plaster on her chin where a spider bit her and it got infected. The journey should only take around 20 minutes as we could see the island from the beach at our hotel. It was spooky though, one day while i was with eddy outside our room we noticed that koh samui had disappeared from our view it was like the island had vanished but then we realised that the fog must just be very thick and so blocked the view of the island.
When the boat arrived we were approached by mani taxi drivers so we scouted one and asked to take us to chaweng beach which is the main, cheap area of the island. He said it was on the other side of the island and would cost us 1,000TB which was 200 each, not sooo bad. As we got in the car he was playing deep house music which made us all in the back begin to dance. It was quite a squeeze as there were four in the back but beth was in Eddy's lap. The island seemed quite scarce as we drove through it to get to Chaweng but you could tell when we got close to the main area as we saw signs for burger king and mcdonalds. The driver drove us to a place on the beach called o.p bungalows but it didn't have a pool which is what we were after but beth had a look around anyway. She said the rooms were nice but we still wanted a pool and i remembered driving passed a place with a pool just near o.p bungalows so we walked there, all sweating and lugging out massive bags with us. When we got there we met with the owner who said that she had two rooms, one with two beds and one with three so she gave the keys to another woman to show us the rooms. This woman didn't have a clue where she was going, she literally led us on a while goose chase around the hotel to try and find the rooms and we were all getting very impatient. We saw the room numbers began with "3" so we told her it must be up the stairs and we finally found it.
It seemed silly to get two not so nice rooms as there were nice bungalows that were empty but she wouldn't give us one of those for the same price which really annoyed dan. We all just thought sod it and so checked in and paid up for one night then took our bags back up to the rooms. Jacky would be sharing with me and daniel and she had a mattress on the floor in between mine and Daniel's two beds and we were saying it's like a cot for a baby and that we would peer over in the night to check up on her. We plan to move our single beds together as i miss cuddles.
As we were all literally dripping with sweat we all got changed into our swimwear and rushed down to the pool. We were all playing and having a good time when the boys were going to try and make a slide going into the pool with one of the loungers until we heard a mans voice saying "put that back". He had come out of his room to tell us to quieten down and not use the loungers like that. I was shocked! We weren't screaming or shouting at all, just having fun and he felt compelled to come out of his room to tell us off. When he went back the owner then came to the pool, he had enough time on his hands to go to reception and tell the woman what we were doing. What a w***er. We have all worked hard for this trip and so we will bloody enjoy ourselves!
Jacky joined us by the pool and said that she had booked a boat ticket back to koh phangan for tomorrow which was a bit sad but she said she preferred it to here and there were more parties on that island. She lay on the lounger skyping her lover mario in england. After a while of swimming we headed upstairs for a shower and to change before all gathering outside our rooms for a spliff and a chat.
