I had done a majority of the packing last night and woke up at around 07:00 so had quite a lot of time on my hands so after chilling with Tina on our porch i went to reception to see if my laundry was ready. When i got there the woman handed over my clean clothes in a bag and i stroked the mummy and baby cats who are always nibbling at her nipples for milk. I took advantage of being in reception and used the wifi to text home and upload a few things.
Dan met me soon after and we each went back to the room to pack the last of our things. When we both were inside it was around 08:40 when a man came to tell us that the minibus had arrived. So we carried all our luggage out and said goodbye to tina, poor cat probably won't have human company for a while as it's low season. We walked through the resort to the mini bus which already was pretty full so we couldn't sit together. I was next to two thai women at the back and kept bumping my head on the roof as we went over bumps.
The mini bus took us on the ferry to mainland where we were all then dropped off at a tourist office to wait for the bus to the pier at 13:00. We got our stickers allocating us to different islands, dropped out bags down and headed for a walk to find a 7/eleven. When we reached one i fancied a toastie as i hadn't had one for over a month so got one heated. We also got a drink, i got iced coffee and some crisps and cake. We went back to sit outside the office and wait for the bus. A lot more people had turned up and there were so many backpacks laid out on the floor.
We boarded the coach at 13:00 and had seats at the front which meant lots of leg room! The journey was so scenic with long roads surrounded by jungle and islands. We arrived at the pier at around 16:30 where everyone unloaded their bags and stood waiting to get on the boat. Once we were all on (and there were a lot of people) we began our trip to the islands. The first stop was Koh Samui and a woman spoke over the speakers and it reminded me of being on a bus back home. It was just like a boat taxi from island to island.
Quite a few people got off and on and then we took off again to our stop; koh phagnan. When we got off the pier we were scouted by a man who was advertising a guesthouse and had rooms for 800TB, everythings gone up in price because of the full moon party on the 14th. We hopped in a 4x4 type taxi with our bags which cost us 100TB and we drove to the hotel. On our way down the drive there were two barking dogs which i hate! Makes me scared to leave the place. We got off and saw nice bungalows and a small pool which was pretty busy with people. We headed to reception and a blonde english woman showed us to the room, her name is kelly from south london.
They only had one 800TB room left which wouldn't go up in price for full moon but it wasn't the best room. Its attached to the restaurant in a separate room with dark tinted windows. We took it anyway and paid for 6 nights (an extra one to recover from the full moon party). We put our stuff in the room and rolled a spliff to smoke on the beach. The sand is really gritty which hurts a little but gets softer in some places. There aren't many sun loungers either which means laying on a towel on the sand. It had gotten dark at this time and we sat on a seat nearby the restaurant.
It was really windy, i'd never felt so much wind with so much power for ages, it was a bit weird if i'm being honest. It was nice to look out and see the green lights shining from each island in the distance. Once we had finished smoking we headed back to the room to chill out for a while before getting an appetite for dinner.
As i wasn't keen walking out to the main road with the dogs we ate in the restaurant which is almost literally on our doorstep. I ordered a cheese and onion toastie with chips and daniel went for a tuna baguette with chips. The food all came out at different times which was annoying but was tasty. Once we had finished we settled the bill and retired back to the room to chill out and sleep.
