We woke up, showered and headed to reception so i could drop off my laundry. Surprise surprise, not one member of staff was to be seen so i left the bag full of clothes behind the desk with a note and we headed down the beach to the same place as yesterday for food. As it was pretty much lunch time we both went for a tuna baguette but i got mine with salad instead of he chips as i've been eating WAY too much recently. I was a bit gutted that there was no dressing on the salad but i ate some of it anyway as the tuna baguette was filling enough.
I got the wifi password and messaged my mum quickly ad the wifi at our hotel doesn't seem to work and i upload some photos to instagram. We them settled the bill and headed back along the beach to our room. Yesterday we said we would go to the beach today as there is more of a breeze but we ended up back at the pool in the same spot and we had the whole area to ourselves. It wasn't as hot as yesterday which made sunbathing a lot easier. I live the tanning oil as it's water resistant and does actually seem to make me more brown than sun cream. Before sunbathing we went out to the front to a tourist place to book our transport to koh tao. We went to apple travel and decide last minute to go to koh phangan first as it's the full moon party on the 14th. We had a chat with the Aussie guy running the place who told us about good places to eat nearby where we would visit tonight. Our transport to koh phamgan cost us 950TB, which seems like a lot of money but as long as it gets us there! After booking, we got a drink from 7/eleven to take back to the bungalow.
Daniel went into the bigger pool today as it seems less dirty than yesterday and when he jumped in he discovered a dead frog which he took out of the pool and left on the side. I went over to investigate it, poor thing was all blue and looked anaemic. Then i thought about eating frog and how people do it. I was toying the idea to give it to a cat but i din't think they'll like the chlorine marinade. I went back to the lounger and continued to bathe under the sun.
Daniel went out to buy fags, plasters a book and an ice cream for me and while he was gone the cleaners came sweeping around the pool area and a big white and ginger cat came to play. He was so friendly as he would walk a few paces then fall to the floor and roll around so i got up and went over to stroke him. He was rubbing himself all over my legs and was so playful and friendly. As i was stroking his he suddenly lashed out and bit my leg! I was so shocked at how quickly his mood changed and my leg began to bleed a bit. Now, i love cats but if they bite you they need to be taught a lesson. I could have flung him into the pool but that would have been too mean so i cupped some water in my hand and tried to chuck it on him but he got away and cowered behind a ledge while peering up over to see what i was doing.
I went back to the lounger to wait for Daniel to return with fags and an ice cream. He took longer than expected and brought me a taylor swift limited edition black forest cornetto which i had wanted to try the first time in Thailand. We continued sunbathing and chilling in the plunge pool when he began spouting more bulls*** about UKIP which he knows i don't want to hear so i left him and went back to the bungalow where i showered and chilled with Tina who enjoys walking over our bed.
When he returned and showered and changed we wanted to head out before it got completely dark so we left at around 17:30 towards the beach and i was taken aback by how beautiful the sun set was. Also annoyed that i didn't think to watch it the last two nights. It was so beautiful with the pink and purple colours in the sky and the islands in the distant. The sea looked so calm and there were small crabs skimming the surface of the sand ever so quickly. It honestly was so beautiful and made me think of home, we're still seeing the same sun except where i am it was setting ever so magnificently.
We walked to the left of the beach being careful to not step on any crabs while looking out for a restaurant that the travel guy had recommended with red lanterns before the poo water. It wasn't far up the beach and we were greeted with a very warm welcome and sat down at a candle lit table on the sand facing the sea. There were lots of tasty options to chose on the menu but we both ended up going for a tuna baguette with chips and a mango shake. We sat and enjoyed the beautiful colours of the sky as the sun tucked itself behind the horizon and said goodbye until tomorrow. There were children playing in the sand and a cute fluffy ginger cat as well. It was a really nice atmosphere and location to be in. I know that when i get home the whole experience id going to seem like a dream and that i'll miss it so much.
The food came and it was yummy, a wholemeal baguette and proper oven chips. I couldn't eat it all so wrapped the rest of my baguette in tissue which promoted the sweet waiter to ask if anything was wrong with it but i assured him it was delicious and that i just wanted to save it for later so he brought me out a plastic container to put it in; i love thai men they are so humble and sweet and just really lovely people. Another one of the waiters even went to the mini mart to buy cigarettes for us so they earned themselves a 30 baht tip (and we NEVER tip out here). We said goodbye and walked back along the beach and over the road to 7/eleven for snacks. We each got a cake, i got banana and dan went for butter. We also got two packs of crisps as they were on offer and a strawberry chuppa chup for myself.
