So for Gail's first ever Greyhound adventure, we headed down to Hervey Bay, a far less touristy east coast spot (presumably because its cheaper to go over via Rainbow Beach but still a heap of backpacker spots along the front and it wouldnt be complete without a couple of Irish bars! We stayed at the nicest place i've ever lived in, the Bay Apartments, the room was absolutely collosal and even had a jacuzzi on the balcony with ocean views, not your average backpacker spot and not even excessively expensive! One day, I'll aspire to make this dream a reality!
Headed to Fraser Island in the morning, the world's largest sand island and definitely worth the trip! Stayed at the Kingfisher Resort, and took a tour with Cool Dingos, some ferrel australian guiding us round the island in a massive 4x4!Hit Lake MacKenzie, Lake Wobby, a shipwreck, the Pinnacles (92 different coloured sands formed into a mini mountail range), rainforest (yes, even on a pure sand island), many a walk through Ellie creek and spotted sea snakes, ocean jellies the size of a dustbin lid, eels, and turtles, but not a single Dingo (the purest of all of Australia's DIngos live on the island and cause havoc!)
