Well I've arrived in what must be the highest city in the world... there's buildings up to 88 stories high and I'm prob gonna get a stiff neck from looking up all the time!
We arrived at about 9am after a tasty little 10hr 40min flight (2hrs shorter than expected) and hungry went in search of a meal! The first place we dived into was a local wee cafe serving some 'gourmet' delights... in true, 'he who dares wins' fashion i ordered, chicken feet, pig skin and some radius as a side dish with a 'cola-cola' to wash it down with!
We spent the day having a wander round the city and found a market selling live stock... with chickens in cages and fish slowly suffocating before being thrown against a wall to be killed... def fresher than tesco!
Since then we met Kenco our tour guide who guided us to an ancient ruin with views of the entire city (4 million people), saw some suspended bridges (one of which apparently has enough metal wire to go around the world 3 times, shipped in from China) and a religious temple where thousands of people sat praying away whilst offering green uncooked chickens, lit insense and made their peace... obviously I had a go!
The weather's very overcast and pretty miserable which has restricted views but the skylines of the city cannot be underestimated and are def more impressive than San Fran, New York and the dome of Whitley Bay!
