From the Atherton Tablelands we made our way to Mission Beach back on the trail a little as we are sick of the brush turkey's company. We camped up on the local council campsite that was full of Aussie gypsies. These people know how to live they spend there whole lives liveing out of big double decker busues that they have converted into houses with tv's, air conditioning even gardens and travel round Australia living on cheap campsites drinking beer.
We didn't actually do much on Mission Beach accept a half arsed attemp in which we tried to walk this 3km trail and got about five minutes into and decided just to turn back and go and relax back on the beach. we did actually move onto a place called Murry Falls which is a national park which means cheap camping about 4 quid wich was cool and here we seen these amzingly gorgeous waterfalls we did try to have breakfast (our normal backpacker breakfast of pancakes, and we are not even getting bored of them although my teeth do feel a little loose) next to them on these big rocks in the middle of the stream but this plan was foiled by the bleedin march flies which are the most annoying things they are twice the size of bluebottles and whyen they bite it hurts but most of the time they spend half of their time trying to land on your face, don't know why they must just have an obsession with my eyebrow sweat. But anyway the falls were gorgeous but then we were on our way to Ingham. Ingham is a town that is meant to be really Italian as they all came over to tend the sugar fields we didn't really notice it at first but them someone told us the only thing that is really Italian is the cemetry and we should go there as its full of traditional Italian mausoleums "its a tourist attraction" "erm no thanks" so we settled on having a beer in the pub with no beer, which is a famous Aussie poem then song apperantly after a poet went into his local the Lees Hotel and all the beer had been drank by the American Soliers that had jsut left so he wrote this poem over a glass of wine luckily they had beer this time "two Schooners of Carlton please Mr Barman" Scooners a bit of a girls portion aswell its only 3/4's of a pint (not impressed).
After a very short night in the Lees hotel and back to our camper, we were back on the road for another night under the stars at another Queensland national park this time at Wallaman falls the biggest single drop fall in Oz 320 meters i think. Although it was a little rainy we hung out for dry weather and this time motivated ourselves to do the trek down to the base which apperantly took two hours we done it in 1 and 1/2 hours check us out. All this treking and lack of beer is doing us some good after all. Here we seen our first snake aswell as we were treking up the gorge on the way back Jack walked past a tree trunk and a little skinny snake shot out behind her in front of me making me jump up and shreik like a little girl, luckily it just snuck away.
Atfer the exhausting trek we cooled of in the lovelyish cold shower eat some beef noodles (they are starting to get a bit boring) and found that we weren't the only campers out in these parts, we spent the night chatting to Simone and Nields a really nice German couple who had a really funky camper sporting nice Kangaroo dints.
Next we were off to Townsville and Magnetic Island
Lots of Love Miles and Jones X
