We arrived into Airlie Beach with on thing in mind the Whitsundays, this is a bunch of 74 islands off Airlie beach and they are all secluded and beautiful. We dicided to take a 3 day and 2 night sailing trip out to them to do a bit of snorkelling and sailing. It was one of the hardest choices to make decidingon what boat to take as we had heard all about these 'party boats' and boats that you just get ripped off on. We thought about it and decided that a small number of people would suit us better and quizzed the girl on the desk about the other passengers, we were also advised to ask about a standby as well as these are a little cheaper. When we told the gal what we were after she came straight up with a standby for us and true backpackers that we are we haggled her down on the price and got a really great deal for 'Whitsunday Passage' that was sailing on thursday (next day). Everything was inclusive on the boat so all we had to take was any snacks and stuff that we wanted for ourselves. We packed light and set off in the morning, the boat was 45foot long and lovely, the skipper was Rowan and the host was Liz, they turned out to be a couple but really nice and shockingly only our age. They really knew what they were talking about and took us to some of the most fantastic spots, they also knew where would be quiet so most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. We were really lucky that the other passengers were great aswell and the food was never ending so we never felt hungry! The pictures really speak for themselves and we were major chuffed that we actually paid the money and did this.
