Today was a difficult day! Jetlag is a b****! Whenever I sat down, I fall asleep - literally. Well, apart from the journeys on the Mumbaian Auto Rickshaws! The chaotic driving had not only kept me away, but made me wet my pants on several close encounters! After some breakfast, we were giving a local tour by Linking Road with the wonderful Avantika. We were shown where the local shops were and markets. The competition to sell things in markets is absolutely intense! Though I am deaf, the noise is deafening. It is insane! The hooting of the autos, people yelling and heckling, motorbikes reving, the birds, the big buses - it is crazy how they drive on roads, its a constant battle of space!
We had some lunch at Theobroma, which quickly became our favourite place to eat. We had dinner at the Bora Bora, my first taste of Indian cuisine - and it was actually not bad! The buffet helps you to try out different Indian food, and I tried all of the food, very proud of myself!
Because I was so jetlagged, I was experiencing zombie-like symptoms, being mind-dead and having slow reaction responses, which is NOT good if you want to survive crossing roads at Mumbai! I swear there were one time a group of locals on the other side of the road we are about to cross, placing bets, wondering when and who will cross the road first!
In bid to wake me up, we played a round of Street Fighter on the Playstation, so much fun. Who knew how competitive Avantika could be! Avantika and Avinash was literally killing each other in bid to win.
We went to the Bandstand Promenade and we were graced with the most beautiful sunset ever! There were alot of loved up couple on the beach watching the sunset, a truely nicest way to end a long and challenging day!
