Mike & Benedict's World Adventures
It was time to relax at the chilled out Byron Bay, our time here included much sleeping to recover from the festivities of the final week as it was just Ben and myself again now. Our first full day in Byron Bay we decided to hire bikes and head up to the lighthouse to try and catch some whales passing. The bike ride took in the beautiful sites although the breaks didn't exactly work and as we rode up the steep hill you could only think of how fun the journey back was going to be. We reached the top out of breath as the mountain bikes we had hired weren't designed for hills i think (in addition to the serious lack of excercise in the past 3months).
The view from the lighthouse was nothing short of beautiful and we chilled up there for a couple hours with no luck of seeing any whales. However on the way back to our bikes having given hope of seeing anything some dolphins came into view playing in the waves so we spent another half an hour watching them before deciding to risk our lifes on the downward journey.
After a short while and some excessive speeds Ben discovered if you pedalled backwards it slowed the bike so we managed to navigate the journey down with only minor scares and no injuries. The rest of the time at Byron was spent wandering around the docile town and just basking in the relaxed atmosphere. On our final night we decided to head to a club and after picking up some goon we introduced our new French room mate into the drinking games (he didn't seem to enjoy them). Heading out just to find that the club we were going to was closed that night and instead having to settle to watch the fist half of a Australia friendly in another bar before being chucked out for closing.
Our next stop Sydney....
