All alone in the big wide world
Thurs 14/09/06
Woke up with Adam cuddling me which was nice when I was dreaming but not so nice when I woke!!!
It was 06.00am so went to wake the girls up so we could go see the lookout point before we left. The lookout point basically a high up place where you can see both the beaches here at Phi Phi. It was a good trek up there and needless to say a shower was well earned when we got back!
Off to catch the boat down at the harbour at 09.00am and had to carry the bloody bag again, this thing was doing my head in...seriously contemplating just having one set of clothes for the entire trip!
Got the boat on time and got talking with an Israeli Girl (Louite) who was really nice so this made the journey pass really quickly as she was very funny! More fricking rain came while we were sat on top off the ferry but again it wasn't beating us so we endured it and it really wasn't that bad! Well I and Michelle wrapped ourselves in my shawl (many thanks Steph!).
We changed from the ferry to a coach halfway which would take us to another ferry and lucky for us it broke down in the middle of nowhere...we were only stranded for about 30mins and it was quite fun actually as we got to meet loads of other people going to Koh Pha Ngan! Back on the road they put a film on for us and I don't know why but they always put one on where the ending is going to be really good but you reach your destination before you get to see it! What a Bummer!
On the second ferry I met another three girls from Israel Lorni, Eta and Anut...these girls were quite crazy so we had a few beers and played some cards, the three hour journey flew by on here.
Once at Koh Pha Ngan we got a taxi to our beach bungalows well it was a pick-up truck actually but it called itself a taxi so who cares! At the Bungalows we met the Dream team...a name I had given to a couple of black guys (Darren and Mike) we met in Phi Phi also met another two Israeli girls(Calamite and Revital) ...man they are everywhere but they are so nice to talk to! We had a few beers in the bar at the bungalows and having been invited into town by the three girls on the boat I took the others along to a place called the Cactus bar!
In the Cactus bar we had many buckets of the local Vodka, Whiskey and super strength Red Bull and many Chang beers before getting hot and sweaty on the dance floor. Outside was a beach party with lots of phirotechnics going on for all to join in! I had a go at the fire limbo and Adam being more daring well actually more drunk had a go at the ring of fire! Like the great man Johnny cash once said "It burns burns burns" and that it did when he dived straight into it! I helped make him feel better by telling him "you play with fire you get burnt". The night was becoming day and by this point I had lost everyone from my bungalows so just stayed with the three Israelis until about 07.00 when we went back for a lay down at their place. We all had the munchies so we devoured a few tubes of Pringles!

Woke back up at 11.00 wrapped in a towel on the beach, said goodbye to the girls and caught an expensive taxi back to where I was staying, the place we were at was very nice with its own private beach but is just too far away from all the action!
Back at the bungalows everyone was hung over and not been in long and so was just lazing on the beach and by the pool. I did a few lengths in the pool but my head was about to explode so gave that stupidity up instantly had some breakfast and crashed out on a sun bed for a few hours! The place had a good sized lounge with comfortable seats, a massive TV and a good DVD system so we spent all day in there eating junk and watching rubbish....well actually we watched some pretty decent movies that aren't even on at the flicks yet in the UK!
19.00 had approached thus it was drinking time so had my first Chang beer as tonight is the half moon party. Calamite had the idea of hiring bikes and going about 23.00 instead of waiting for the others as we were pretty sick of being stuck in the same place all of the day! It was a good idea but it meant not having anymore drinks which was probably the best idea as I had felt rough all day and just wasted it by doing nothing! Hey...... I've got another 10 months of doing nothing you guys so don't worry!!
We set off for the party with a vague idea of where it is but obviously we did get lost but a nice person helped us to find where it was. I say person as I'm not entirely sure of what sex they were if any....? Also we were apprehensive to follow it as we thought the worst....but hey like I mentioned in previous journals these girls have completed a 2 year national service in the army, thus they can kick ass!
Well we got there safe and sound and locked our peds up outside don't know what for though....who in their right mind would steel them? It was banging inside ravers with glow sticks everywhere! It wasn't too busy just yet so we found some nice seats high above the dance area and chilled out for a bit! As I was driving well riding I was just drinking the super strength Red Bulls they have over here. They're super strength because there is no regulations on the amount of stimulants that go into them...this stuff gave you more than wings! The others finally arrived so we went for a dance, luckily I got surrounded by the lady boys who were trying to take my shirt from me and groping me etc! Savior.... Revital came close to chat, told the things she was my girlfriend thinking she would help....not at all she thought it would be funny to tell the most manly one of the bunch that I liked him, her, it??? God knows what you call them but I didn't! Then my true savior came in the form of a spotty ginger geek from none other than...yes you've guessed it bloody England! No wonder we get a bad name as tourists, he had his tongue straight down its throat and was giving it large with the bumping and grinding on the dance floor UUUUURRRRGGGGHHHH!!! Time for a drink definitely, I can handle most things but I just felt violated again.
Coming back from the bar Revital twisted her ankle really bad on the steps, she carried on then the pain just took over and the sight of blood just made her go all weird and pass out! I thought she had died or something it was horrible, she was like jelly in my arms, then all the monged dancers encircled me trying to give their dodgy water so like a true knight in shining armour I fought them off and carried her all the way to the exit! Good job she was petite the fricking exit was miles away! She came back round on the way to the exit and was fine...man she shook me up so for that I strangled her, just kidding I didn't really...just glad she was ok! Bumped into Nicole on the way out who was talking to that dude in the wheelchair from the BBC advert, well it looked like him and he said he was him but I think that was just a cheap chat up line....not like mine "The Savior" ha ha! Got Revital on my power machine yes that's right my 125cc moped and rode off into the sunset well actually it was morning so more like sunrise. Took her back to the bungalows grabbed her some ice then went off to bed to sleep well, knowing I had done my good deed for the day! And luckily Nicole didn't come back with the BBC dude so I slept like a log!

Woke up quite early this morning and went to sunbathe with Michelle as she was the only other person who was awake at this unearthly hour. We went for walk along the beach...sounds romantic doesn't it???? It wasn't in fact anything but, however it was a nice walk. We found a swing on a coconut tree so I decided to push her as high as I could she found it fun until she nearly wiped herself out against the tree...needless to say she soon got off. We continued with our walk and soon ran out of drinking water as it was just so hot so we decided to walk back I think we had covered about 5miles in the heat so we were knackered.
Back at the bungalows nobody was yet awake and Nicole the dirty stop out must have rode off into the sunset on the BBC boys' wheelchair! We messed around in the pool for a bit just launching the balls at each other when Revital Limped out of her bungalow with what looked like a football stuck on her foot! It was massive so I decided she should go have it checked at the hospital. The hospital was a little building on the main street and I had to carry her everywhere as she couldn't even limp! She had a few X-rays and luckily there was no break so good news all round. The Dr dressed the foot and we made our way back to the bungalows where we had a salad before heading out on the bikes to another beach. We sunbathed and messed around in the sea well poor Revital couldn't with her foot so she just sat there bless her!
At 18.00 we decided to go to the otherside of the island to watch the sunset, here I met Hila, her twin sister Liat and Adi all of whom were from Israel. Sorting Revital had me made some kind of a national hero in Israel...ha ha! I felt great on the beach surrounded by great looking woman watching a beautiful sunset! Afterwards we went for some tea in the beachside restaurant which was very nice indeed!
We returned to the bungalows to get sorted ready for another beach party at the Cactus bar! I was starving when I got back to the bungalows so I had a Thai Red Curry which was very hot but extremely tasty! Tonight was Michelle and Nicole's last night so it was to be a mad one!
We all went to Cactus met up with the other Girls and had a really good night. Luckily it was boiling in there so as soon as you entered you lost 2 pints of fluid in sweat (see pics) the music was good and the company too was excellent. I didn't bother drinking except for water and unlike me I just danced all night until some stupid time the following day!
When we returned to the Bungalow the girls said they had lost their key and could they get in my bed until they could get another key....that old chestnut hey??? I was so tired I didn't care so god knows how many was in but it was full and I had a really good sleep!

Woke up at 11.00am clambered over all the bodies got dressed and headed to the beach to meet the other girls I had promised I would meet them and hang out with tem on the beach! I was an hour or so late but they were there, we hung out for a bit and played in the sea but I remembered Michelle and Nicole was leaving so I had to jump on my baby and ride all the way back to the bungalows. I said goodbye to both of them and then about an hour later they turned back up saying they wanted to stay...what a waste I could have stayed at the beach!
Anyway all us guys decided to go out for a cruise on our bikes, Si had got a geared Bike and so Adam decided he wanted one also. Bearing in mind he had never ridden one he thought you could just jump on and off you go! I had to spend 20mins teaching him and luckily he picked it up...well setting off at least, he had a habit of thrashing the guts out of it in very low gears!
So off we went through the hills and valleys....I thought us all being boys we may have been stupid and drove crazy but none of us did, well apart from one part where we raced but the road was empty! I of course one, the others lost their bottle even Si on his 250 couldn't keep up with my 125 on the bends! Don't worry though Mum it was only that part we drove sensibly and carefully from then on! We got to Hat Rin and had tea in the seafood restaurant which was quite average compared to some of the other places we had sampled! After we returned back to the bungalows, me and Si sped off in front and left Mike and Adam to plod along behind! We got back to the bungalows and about 30 mins after Mike pulled up saying Adam had had an accident. He was riding up the hill and dropped it into a too low gear and flipped it throwing him off the back and the bike in the ditch! Luckily he wasn't hurt so we had a good laugh. The only thing was he wasn't with the bike it was 5 miles away in a ditch and he couldn't start it. We all went back out but this time I took the 250. Upon arrival Adam's bike seemed fine apart from bent handle bars and broken indicators. It wouldn't start because it was flooded before and so started first time when we got there. We all stayed together this time on our return and got back to the bungalows safe and sound....amateurs!!!
Nobody could be bothered going out tonight as it was our last night, however me and Nicole saw this as a perfect excuse for another night on the town! At 23.00 we got on my bike and headed off to town, we couldn't believe the others were staying....so boring! We met up with all the girls whom I had met from Israel; Hila,Liat , Adi, Lorni, Anut and Eta. Nicole did her usual and disappeared for a while then came back with his real crazy girl from Manchester....I mean proper in your face crazy and I don't even think she was on anything just totally mental!!
I hung out with the girls until around 06.00am and had managed to lose Nicole again so after a failed attempt of trying to find her I headed off home for a few hours sleep before our ferry in the morning!.
Mon 18/09/06
Was up at 08.00am and went to say goodbye to the girls from Israel. When hiring the bike we all signed a form saying we would pay for any damage whilst in our possession so of course you can sort of envisage what happened next! Yes that's right something broke...the exhaust had cracked at the manifold and with the vibration of the engine totally snapped. It had been previously welded so I thought I was in the clear! Not at all these people knew how to get money out of us; for starters she had my passport! After 30 mins of arguing and being threatened by the police several times I agreed to pay! However to stop these people doing the same again and just welding it back on I wouldn't pay unless they gave me the exhaust.....that wiped the smirk off their faces! Adam on the other hand had broken the most expensive listed items...indicators so his bill was much larger and as the indicators had disintegrated he couldn't take them like me!
At 12.00 Me (exhaust in hand, which was later thrown in a place never to be found again) and Adam headed to the port to catch our ferry, Nicole and Michelle were supposed to come to get theirs too but Nicole was missing...we feared the worst but luckily she turned up later on having been bitten by something. We caught a taxi to the right port then decided it was the wrong port so went to a different port which was the wrong port so returned to the port which we previously thought was the wrong but indeed turned out to be the right port! That little riddle may seem confusing but you should try catching a ferry out of this place!
Managed to fall straight to sleep on the deck of the boat and was woken by Adam in Ko Samui, I couldn't move though as I'd slept with my legs on the railings I had real bad pins & needles! Back to sleep again then it started raining and got real cold with the breeze and the waves crashing up and soaking me so I went below deck where it was even colder due to the AC. I got wrapped up and watched "Big Momma's House 2". We reached Surit Thani had some food and I fell yes that's right straight to sleep again! My personal alarm clock Adam woke me again for the bus and again bloody pins &needles but this time in my arms so I couldn't carry my bags!
Unfortunately the bus was very busy so I had to share seats with an Israeli dude which wasn't a problem its just with two seats to yourself you can get laid out and relax more! At 0.00 we stopped for some food then back on the bus I decided it would be more comfortable to sleep on the floor and so I did....I had the best six hours before arriving in Bangkok!
