Arrived in Surat Thani just before 06.00....we was wide awake after a good sleep and so decided to pass time by playing cards! 08.00 we got a little minibus to Phuket where we met Adam (Aus) and Michelle and Nicole both from the UK. We all decided to go to the same beach to get a bungalow to stay in which was very nice and very cheap. Once we had dropped our bags in we all went straight to the beach for some swimming before the sunset. It was very warm in the sea and watching the sunset whilst swimming was wonderful especially with all the beautiful colours....am I turning gay??? When it got dark we headed back to get changed and the girls being girls took too long and so we missed the restaurant! We decided a liquid lunch was in order to get to know each other better and so we went to the hooker bar. Here there was a pool table and cheap drinks oh and hookers! For some reason after a few beers I got better at pool well until I reached a certain point then I couldn't actually see whether they were spots or stripes! A few more beers and we decided to leave.... well I left under duress as I was ok as you can see from the pics. The next day I woke at 07.45 with a very fuzzy head and also with a girl at the side of me...I couldn't remember this but it was Nicole who had been kicked out by Adam and Michelle who had hit it off last night! Also she assured me I was the perfect gent and didn't try anything...yeah right I was just too drunk ha ha. Then the next bit of bad news she told me to check my camera....the pics showed me looking a little worse for wear and being kissed by bar staff....uuurrrrrggghhhh! All good fun well it is for others looking in but not for me! However I was pleased as the hangover had only cost me 2 quid so not all bad! Back to the beach and on the way I bought a cool snorkeling set and so I and Helio went into the sea. We swam to the island which was about 1km away. We found some crazy sea life and a fish that when you grabbed it, it expanded into a ball and went spikey! We returned to the shore some two hours later and me being stupid forget to put cream on and so my back and legs were so burnt also I had cut my knee getting out when at the island and so blood was pouring out! Me, Adam, Michelle and Nicole decided to go get some bikes from the place we were staying. We had to wear the dodgy helmets (see pic!) under law here. Off we went to Surin Beach some 30km along the coast. I had Adam on the back of me which wasn't such a good idea on a bike with crap breaks riding around steep roads and the extra weight when trying to climb the other side, we looked like a right couple of idiots especially when the girls would zoom past! At the beach I and Nicole were straight in with all the high waves throwing us all over the place. They were starting to give me a headache well actually I think the exposure to the sun had begun to take affect and so I started to feel rough. After a great banana pancake I decided to take a nap on the beach under the shade. Returned to the bungalows at around 18.00 to get changed to head out for food. Tonight I wasn't missing food for anything! After tea we went to book our ticket to Phi Phi which is the area where they filmed the Beach. Nothing major tonight just a banana shake then off to bed as were leaving here at 08.00 in the morning!
