On the coach I fell straight to sleep and a few nightmares later I woke up in Chiang Mai, feeling a bit ratty due to the lack of sleep etc my day was brightened by a man holding a name board. A name board you may ask, how does this brighten your day? Well the board read….Ok Ok I’m being childish but it made me laugh, it said Miss Fanny.
We got on another bus and headed for the guesthouse, on the way we stopped at a great bakery and had a wonderful breakfast.
Today I decided to do a Thai cooking course, so if any of you ever want Thai food… don’t ask me as there’s a great restaurant in Leeds city centre. The course was really good and our teacher Pari, well calling her crazy would be an understatement, but none the less she was great fun and an excellent chef! We were taught how to make Chicken Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, Thai red curry and steamed banana with coconut all of which were made using fresh ingredients we had bought ourselves from the local market. After the cooking course I was feeling quite tired and I think I am getting man flu which you all know is far worse than just your normal influenza!! I went to bed for a few hours, at 16.00 the others decided to meet for another temple tour but I wasn’t feeling up to it so I decided to go shopping, oh no maybe I’m turning into a woman?? Anyway in the shopping mall I found the Sony centre which had a very attractive manageress who told me I was “handsome”, this was excellent news as now I could use this to manipulate her into giving me a good deal on a laptop and camera. After about an hour of her saying she couldn’t do me the camera and laptop I wanted for the price I wanted to pay her, she finally buckled and said a price a little higher. This was ok for me as she also threw in a carry case for both items, tripod for the camera, a 1 GB memory card and heaps of software for the laptop.
I went back to my room like a kid on Christmas day smiling all the way there. I played with my new toys until 20.30 when I met the others to go for a wonder around the nigh market, well I wondered with Steve for about ten minutes until we stumbled across O’Malley’s an Irish bar. We had a nice pint of Guinness with a great pub meal. After eating and drinking I was feeling so lethargic so I headed off to my room to watch a dvd before falling asleep around 23.00, my flu is getting far worse now I just feel like my head is about to explode I guess all that partying and no rest on the islands has finally caught up with me!!!
