We arrived in Hoi An in the morning and found some accomodation. We had a wonder around the town and looked for some tailors. There is no short supply so after a think we decided on one that looked nice and professional, it was slightly more expensive than some of the others but in the end I think it was worth it. You look through magazines and see if there are any suits you like the look of, or you can go through the individual parts that can be customised and they make it for you. Will decided not to get a suit in the end so I got measured then we went to the beach. It was a really nice beach apart from all the beach sellers who all flocked to you if you showed any interest, as one girl near us found out. We had some chips and a few drinks and then headed back. We had got a motorbike taxi on the way to the beach and on the way back. On the way back, my driver seemed a bit of a lunatic and went a lot faster than anyone else on the road until getting stuck behind a vehicle which he would then overtake as soon as possible. The next day, my suit was ready for the first fitting, just 24 hours after choosing what I wanted. There were a few alterations to be made and 5 hours later I came back and took it away. A top-quality suit and 2 tailor made shirts for 60 quid. I was chuffed, just not happy about having to carry it around! The town of Hoi An is very nice but very tourist orientated. There were lots of very nice and reasonably priced restaurants dotted around, especially on the water front, many selling a glass of 'fresh beer' for 4000 Dong, just really cheap. One day we took a walk across the bridge from Hoi An to one of the islands nearby, it was cool to see where people live, as there was very little tourism on the island and you could see what it is like without all the tourists. The day we were going to move on, we visited some Cham religious sites on a tour that lasted the morning. It was cool to see the ruins which were hundreds of years old, but it didn't need much time to see them. We then hung around in the afternoon playing some pool with Phil before catching an overnight bus down to Nha Trang.
