We left early yesterday, catching the ferry to Butterworth, then a coach up to Alor Setar. Arriving at the bus station we found out there weren't any direct buses to Kuala Perlis where we needed to get the boat to Thailand so we got a long distance taxi for the 1 hour drive to Kuala Perlis. Caught a 2 1/2 coach to KL yesterday, arriving in rain. Not having planned a place to stay we wondered around for about 2 hours trying to find a place nobody knew about. Yesterday we caught a very nice coach from Singapore to Mallacca in Malaysia. It took about 4 hours, driving through very different landscape to Singapore. We had a look around Mallacca when we arrived and managed to get lost but made it back eventually.
