Friday 10th June, 2011 - Day trip to Yosemite National Park Got up early, the campsite made a packed lunch for us and we headed first to Mariposa Grove where they have giant redwood trees - they are very big and some are over 900 years old, although my highlight was seeing little chipmunks!!!!!! Leaving chilly, windy, sunny San Francisco for 32 degrees in Yosemite national park - perfect weather for our red Mustang convertible!!!! Managed to squeeze our massive bags in to the boot and one strapped in to the back seat. We headed out of San Francisco, via Lombard Street (The crookedest Street) on the Bay Bridge and on to highway 140 and Highway 99 where we stopped at a 1980's diner for some lunch ...
