Home alone in Gonsenheim as B&B have gone to UK for family weekend. Lovely walks in forest followed by early evening Aperol in cafe Raaband afterwards I went to the Golden Adler to watch Germany v France.

Left Erbach returned to Bob and Birgitt's had last dentist appointment to have stitches removed and the frightening part actually paying the bill. Afterwards had a drink at the river opposite where the Rhine and Main meet. Then a lovely walk in the Volkspark, in the evening we went to a Portuguese restaurant (a favourite of B&B's) fab food and more wine consumed.

Arrived at Weinhof Martin parked in vineyard, nice seating area for use of campers, looking up to the vines. Shower room in the tractor barn, not as bad as it sounds, all completely modern and spotlessly clean. Again loads of open areas for Bella to run and lovely views down to the town and the Rhine side a followimere 10 minutes walk. Bella did manage to disgrace herself following a walk in the vines, she suddenly dissapeared only to be found in the water fe...

Moved on to the Camping Taunus site just outside the picturesque village of Eppstein. Spent 2 nights there enjoying the town and adjoining countryside.

Moved down to Rudesheim on the banks of the Rhine. Another warm and sunny day, we picniced by the river and walked around the cobbled streets eating ice cream. The river cruisers we in so the streets were full of visitors. Lesley lit a candle for her mum in the church she'd visited years before. On the way back we stopped at the weingut Nurnberg Hof that Birgitt recommended, again fabulous views over the valley to Mainz enjoying a glass of local wine.
