Took in Riquewihr and Ribeauville enroute to Bergsheim a lovely old walled town dating back to the middle ages. Stayed in camping Vinobles, only 6 spaces in the back garden of a house, very quaint.

Picture of the historic houses of Equisheim. Having driven into Colmar and parked in the old quarter we decided to give it a miss. The town was not as expected, it looked more like a inner city suburb than a historic city. Went back to the camp and did a walk up to Les Trois Chateaux 3 ruins in the hills above Equisheim. Walked through vineyards and villages, lovely. Boiling hot day, was glad to get back for a cold one.

Drove into the Black Forest from near Baden Baden, we were steadily climbing for what seemed miles. Then of course what goes up must come down! boy did we come down... A very steep winding decent that made the brakes so hot you could smell the burning. We were glad to reach the valley floor and even more so when we found a stellplatz in Durbach. €6/N + electric. Result the payment machine kept spitting out our coins so we put a note in the windscreen paid for ...

Watched the world cup final in the camp bar. The only Englishman in the German bar, still everyone was was in good spirits especially as Germany won. Torrential rain again and I managed to slip up in the mud... very dirty! Definitely looking forward to some sun.

Arrived last night at a small Weingut Stellplatz called Helmut Schreoder, only 10 spaces and again very reasonable about €12/night incl electric and showers. The town, again very picturesque and it's their weinfest, we keep finding them! Walked to Maikhammer in the afternoon, it's really hot at the moment (32ish).
