The storm broke overnight and we woke to torrential rain on the windows and howling winds battering the trees beyond them. An excellent excuse to stay in bed and plan our onward adventures with bottomless cups of tea.
After booking accommodation in Japan and Sri Lanka we headed out into the monsoon to start the postcards on their onward journey. We were soaked within seconds, despite of our waterproofs best efforts, but the cards were posted and we continued on to find a hairdresser brave enough to try and tame Bob's mane!
'Head office' accepted the challenge and I left Bob to it, as I headed on to sort out opal cards and generally mooch about in between rainy dashes between shops. Bob appeared an hour later with a significantly reduced mop and we scuttled back to the apartment through the rain for a warming lunch of chicken soup and fresh bread.
The afternoon was spent further researching our future plans before Luke and Bec returned and we dashed to the local Italian for Pizza and wine after a hurried Skype update with Elmgrove. The rain did not let up and Luke's umbrella was lucky to make it back in 1 piece. We had a lovely cup of tea as we said our farewells, not looking forward to the early start the next day.
We've had a fantastic time in Australia and we could quite happily come back and enjoy the fantastic hospitality all over again.
