Cairns!!! Good Day Mate... they actually say this!
Wahoooo were finally in Oz. Got here on the 16th December. Only two weeks untill Xmas and we've no idea where we shall be!
First couple of days we hit the lagoon with our factor 20... this quickly increased to 30 as we realised that every other tourist was using 30! Also the shops here dont even sell lower! Chilled out, toppped up the tans and booked our Greyhound bus to go south! Excitinggggggg :)
Stayed at a place called Gilligans which where our dorms were above the nightclub! Had no other choice but to sleep with ear plugs in, the beds Vibrated.... 'Like a G6' was the dorms favourite song because it woke everyone up!! hahaha. Unfortuanatly the rooms we have stayed in so far have had unsociable people in... We had to leave Gilligans after two nights because it was fully booked so we left. Now in a place called Global Backpacker where we got put in a worse room! A VERY smelly asian who watches DVDS all day in bed, has a massive rice cooker in his ridiculously big suitcase and doesnt shower! We think he's been here a while....
The majority of people here are all travelling Aussies. There are a lot of the Aborigines here, one guy we saw was head butting a telephone box, another women we saw was in a fight and police were everywhere! and we also saw a man get arrested face first in a flower bed...
Yesterday we went to the Great Barrier Reef, Passions of Paradise trip, which was so much fun :D We decided to snorkel because we only dived the other week. The reefs were so shallow we think snorkelling was definately a better option :) The reefs were amazing. We met some nice people from USA, Holland and Wales, but they were leaving Cairns that night. We saw hundreds of tropical fish, few sting rays, hundreds of different corals and were hoping to see a turtle or shark but they were hiding :(! We bought an Underwater Camera soooo we have some really good pictures. Have a look :D
Tonight, 20th December we leave for Airlie Beach, have managed to book accommadation for Christmas and New Year. Can't wait. Shall head to the lagoon today to improve our suntans a little more... ;)
Lots of Love to Everybody xxxxxxxxxxx
