Nadi
We arrived in Fiji airport and departed our plane to Fijian men wearing Hawaiin looking outfits playing the guitar and singing Fiji songs! We got told at the airport to go to a place called 'Bamboo'. We got a taxi there, the owner was obviously on drugs, he took us to see the room but couldnt find the light switch so we couldnt even see it! We decided it might be a good idea to go elsewhere. We ended up at a place called Tropic of Capricorn, which was nice! We spent two nights in Nadi, but the beaches arent great and there wasnt much to do!
We booked to go to an Island called Mana for 4 days
Mana
We arrived in Mana at around mid day, the island is beautiful! The sea is so clear, and the beaches have really white sand! Lots of palm trees aswell it looks just like you would imagine Fiji to look like! :D
The first night we were really tired so headed to bed in a dorm of 17 at around half 9 or 10. I was on the top bunk and Mikaela was on the top of another one! I was climbing up the ladder really quitely becuase the guy below was asleep..... Then suddenly i heard a big snap and the entire top bunk collapsed onto him hahaa! He jumped out of bed swearing because he didnt know what was going on. Luckily he wasn't hurt! It was so funny, just like the 'Step Brothers' scene! Me and Kla were nearly crying cause it was so funny, but a lot of the others in the room didnt even find it funny? Hahaha.
We made sure the staff knew that my leg was really 'sore' hoping we would get upgraded to a private room. We got moved to a smaller dorm... which had bed bugs :/ so we packed up ten minutes after and had another moan. We waited about half hour before they found us a new room! It was a private little cottage called the 'Family Bure'. It worked out pretty well in the end :D
We went on a snorkelling trip which was fun, saw hundreds of tropical fish. Loads of Nemos!Saw a sea cucumber! Stopped at a sand island which was about 30 metres long and not very wide. It was amazing! :)
There isnt much else to do here, except sunbath, snorkel, sunbath, snorkel. It is amazing!
We were sunbathing and saw two baby Black Tip Sharks swimming along the shore line whih was really cool. They were only about a foot long, we followed them to get a picture and then they swam away. We didnt see mummy shark though :(
On Wednesday 20th we went to Castaway Island which is where the Tom Hanks film was filmed. This island was so AMAZING! We climbed a huge rainforest cliff and looked out over the islands which was cool. The sand was really nice and the island itself was the best looking island we've seen. Stayed here for a while, sunbathed, snorkelled, played football with 'Wilson' and then headed back to Mana Island to do some Fishing!!!
Today we left the islands and came back to mainland :( rubbish beaches here. We fly to New Zealand tomorrow morning :D Wooop.
72 days left :O :(
We have also updated the Sydney photos and blog sooo go have a look :D xxxxxxxxxxxx
