Miffy's Mischievous Adventures
Hello to all,
Day 6 - At approximately 07:00 in the morning we had arrived somewhere in the back end of nowhere to catch our second bus that would take us the the port to catch the ferry. It is really rested though, as you are half asleep and you have to be up and out with your rucksack and day sack in about 30 seconds. The bus, very nearly left without throwing our rucksacks which where shored under the bus. We had about an hour and a half to wait until the second bus arrived. In that time a girl had realised that she had had 8000 baht stolen and one of the Swedish girls bags had be gone through! This is common out here and not a very nice situation as it is out of your control as your main sack have to be stored under the bus. They pay little kids to go through all the bags and steal stuff. While waiting around we started talking to three young lads called Max, Ash and Antony and three girls from Southamton. We hooked up my ipod to some speakers that Ash had and sat back and relaxed.
We nearly missed the ferry as our second bus we half an hour late. It was a mad dash to board the ferry. The ferry journey to Ko Samui was going to be about 3 hours. We all stayed on the deck and sunbathed as the weather was just fantastic. When in Ko Samui (18 hours since leaving Bangkok) we shared a taxi with the lads from Brighton and saved a few baht. Our destination Chaweng Beach. Chaweng beach is a big back packing place and a bit comersionalised so decided to stay a kilometer or so from the main strip. Colin and I ended up in Charlie's Hut which are A framed bungalows on the beach. They are quality and cost 800 baht a night (11 quid) for a twin. Time for a shower and a beer. As soon as I opened my rucksack I realised that my bag had also been gone through. I had had my penknife stolen and so had Colin's!!! Fortunately - as I was aware that these thinks go on all the time we both had all our valuables in our day sacks that never left us. We are both wising up quickly...... Off to the shop to buy a bottle of whisky and some beers.
On returning from the shop I went to open a large Chang. Then it dawned on me, I now didn't have a bottle opener! This was when I was p*ss off. As everything I brought out here with me, which wasn't a lot of stuff, was brought for a specific reason!! and my penknife was going to be a good friend to me, considering I like a beer every now and then. The funny thing is, that I only opened the blade once and cut myself with it! What a waste of twenty bucks... I drank half a bottle of chang and fell asleep on the porch
Day 7 - I was up early doors and down to the beach. It was an amazing day and the beach was basicaly empty. It was well chilled out and just what the doctor ordered. After some lunch we decided to stroll the full length of the beach with is 6km long. Half way round we bumped into an elephant with this thai gentleman was feeding. It was an amazing animal and really tame and friendly. Right at the other end of the beach from where we were I discovered the gaff that Jim and I stayed in in 2003. It was twice the price that Colin and I were currently paying.
That night we went to a thai boxing competition. It was quality again and they are well hard. We met a Scottish couple that had just got engaged called Brendon and Lynda! Lovely couple and we had a drink with them after the thai boxing had finished. Hello to you guys - hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.... Back to Charlie's Huts to finish off the bottle of whiskey. To my delight four swedish girls had moved in next door. It was time to said hello and introduce myself. One of the girls was on the patio so we went over and said hello. We had a quick chat and she then said it was one of the other girls birthdays. So as a threesome (Colin) we burst in and sang happy birthday. She was very supposed and so were we! She wasn't wearing many clothes!! She them asked us to do it again so she could film it...... all was ok
After that we then started talking to our other neighbours, drinking and chillin and ended up on the beach to see the sun rise.
Day 8 - We bumped into Dave and Cooper while having lunch which was cool. We arranged to meet up in the evening to go out. We met at 8 and went down to the shop to buy cheap Singha's and ice to drink outside our hut. We made a ice box and relaxed. The boys were so funny and were going to show us how it is done properly, as we hadn't really been out to a club. We had an awesome night in tropical murphy's, the green mango and ended up in a place called solo. Good night and the beers were flowing and going down a treat.
Day 9 - Was awoken by a knock at the door - its was dave to say bye as they were going to Kho Phanang to get settled before the full moon party on the 13th. We hired motor bikes as we wanted to explore Kho Samui and its waterfalls. We were soon lost and going in the completely wrong direction - didn't really matter as we had all day. Colin had never rode a bike before so it was like bamby on to wheels for the first five minutes. We finally found our destination and it was a bit of trek and heading into the jungle/forest. I spotted a elephant to my left and it was just wondering around eating. It was fantastic then a hugh elephant walked past with a bloke on his head. It was excellent. When we arrived to the waterfall start point there was loads of elephants just doing there think in there natural environment - it was so cool. It was a 40 minute steep climb to see the two waterfalls and as was so hot and humid. I was absolutely soak though in seconds, it was minging and hard work. The waterfalls were very dry as it isn't rainy season but it was well worth it as it had been a quality day zooming about and exploring the island. There was a cool monkey we found as well. Chilled out in the evening with the Swedish girl who were going out - could of gone with them but decide against it.
Day 10 - Up early doors to pack and catch a ferry at the big buddha port - Kho Phanga the destination
Bye for now
