Miffy's Mischievous Adventures
Hi all,
Back in Bangkok I met up with Andy and Helen from Kho Tao. They were leaving the next day for England after 3 months of traveling. Andy had completed his Divemasters and Helen had traveled around using Kho Tao as a kind of base. We went to Siam Square to have a look about. We ended up in a big shopping Mall! Fortunately for me I managed not to spend any money but Andy was filling his books.
We arranged to meet up in the evening to had a drink before they headed off home. Between meeting up I had bumped into a few more people I knew! Bangkok is just one of those places... I ran into Richard and Emily and also Jersey James and Laura both from Kho Tao. Didn't know they were going to be in town. I also meet Stephan and and Katherine from Kanchanaburi. Andy, Helen, Richard and M turned in early as they both had to pack before flying off to the UK and Singapore so I met up with Stephan and Katherine.
I decided to stay up and watch the the Germany and Italy game as I wanted the Germans to thrash the cheating Italians! and why not watch it with two Germans! The game wasn't on until two so we decided to start drinking and watch a Thai band play. They were fairly good to be honest but the thai audience were more entertaining. Every table had a massive bottle of whiskey on it and they were knocking them back at a astonishing rate. The crowd were going nuts and the bloke behind me was dancing like one of 50 cent's backing dancers! Also kept bowing at all three of us at the same time spilling his whisky down my back. Oh - he also kept saying he loved me in broken English. I think this was the only phase he know.
Unfortunately they wrapped up shortly after we arrived but there was another rock band on down the road. On leaving this place the usual sites were around. A girl vomiting in the gutter with a friend making sure she wasn't sick in her hair etc etc
We were about to turn and entry the next place when a huge group of men burst through the doors onto the streets of Bangkok. Punches were flying and a bloke with a chair above his head attempted to chair someone! No one seemed to get hurt but we decided to miss off this bar. Fairly rock 'n' roll though.
We visited a other bar before heading to Gulliver's 2 for the game. The only exciting story to report is an unfortuntate event in the toilets as the game was pretty poor. I visited the men's for obvious reasons and there was only one other bloke there who was thai. He piped up and said are you German and Italian and I could tell that he was pretty drunk and camper than Christmas. I laugh and said I was England and he was behind me by this time as I was saying that I wanted the Germans to win though. Before I know he had grabbed my old boy! I was like what the ...., pushed him and said 'easy tiger'! (Why I said that I do not know - I was in shock I think). He then left and there wasn't much I could do as I was still in motion. Stephan and Katherine found this highly amusing and by this time I also saw the funny side... I ended up hitting the hay at 04.30 as I had to be up in 2 hours to travel to Cambodia
Bye for now
