Austria is great, it is very small and the town and is made up of the old town and the new town and the entire city is watched over by this huge fortress which sits on top of this massive mountain ... You can see that this city was built around protection from invasions ... Seriously i have never seen anything like what i am seeing every day!!! Bec and I did the 'eaglesnest' tour which is a tour of Hitlers summer house.... u have no idea, this is mindblowing ... the house is perched on the end of the one of the highest mountains in germany and we went inside... The bus picked us up from our hotel at 830am (who said anything about sleeping in when ur on hols :( ... hehe then we drove to the bottom of the mountain and swapped buses as the tunnels leading up the mountain were built over 50 years ago are too small for the coaches to fit through... our tour was with 50 people and about 48 of those people were aussie with the jersys on and hats ... it is soccer fever over here... We reached about middle of the mountain and we had to walk through this tunnel which cuts into the mountain and takes u to the middle, the tunnel is about 10 degrees - much like sydney i gather... and then we hit an elevator which is massive fits 50 people in it, and is made of polish brass as Hitler was clostrophobic ... very nice and cosy! u travel up through this mountain and reach the top... walk out of the house and there is a bit of snow around and all u can see is mountains and valleys with a beautiful river which runs through germany and out to the black sea... this was truely amazing ... one of the best experiences eva !!! today we are headed to croatia, it is a 7 hour train ride which is ok... we nicked some food from the hotel breaky bar and we will eat that all day... love being on a budget hehe . Just sitting on the trains is great as all u see is amazing scenery, u are always surrounded by some sort of alps... we went though the austrian alps yesterday. so all is well, we have some picis which we will attempt to upload to the net as they are all amazing... and u have to check them out ... !!! please keep the emails coming it is always nice to have reminders of home !!! anyways hope the weather heats up over there it is scorching over here... never anything more than short & a singlet !!! speak soon...
