Before I continue with my adventures I forgot to mention the guy I leant money too.! I see him again in San pedro the party town, as soon as he saw me I knew I wouldn't get my money back.. Head down and all lost for words, out his nut.! Promised to drop the cash off to me in an hour and well I never see him again, some how I hope there is a travel karma god that kicks him in the b******s..!! It was only £12 but still what a w***er, sir I hope you lose your passport and you get thrown in a fridge and it dropped into the ocean.! You have fcuked things up for any traveller I come across in a bad situation.. Ha so yes anyway I decided to head to Flores home of the start of the Mayan ruins in northern Guatemala.. It was a very small island and I meet with Alex Emma and some others from previous places for drinks, I checked out the lake around and went to the Tikal ruins which are very impressive.! Deep in the jungle I saw snakes, monkeys and even spiders.! The ruins where a marvellous sight, sitting at the top and looking across the jungle seeing the temple peeks is a great place to be.!
I decided after 5days I wanted to move on to Mexico, I just had a horrid bus ride along a 4hour unmade road to the Mexican boarder, it was a bus ride, a boat crossing and then another bus.. It wasn't to bad but very long, I arrived in Palenque at 3pm after leaving Flores at 5am, wasn't sure what to do and how long to stay so just chilled for a couple days and started making plans for Mexico.. The ruins of Palenque where not all that impressive if I'm honest or maybe i had just been spoilt as id see so much and so many on this trip already.? I was also looking forward to the ruins of Tulum near cancun and playa del carmen.. I headed to playa as the locals call it after just 2days, it is a very busy American tourist hot spot.. Nice enough but not for me, second day there I jumped on a bus and headed along the coast to Tulum ruins, 40minutes in a bus was easy now.! Haha..
Il be completely honest and say that these ruins, blew me away.! I don't know what it was, I imagine the beach but they are much more impressive than any the others.! I mean they are also castle like where as the others are temples and pyramid like, it also helps having the iguanas everywhere and the ocean.. The beach is impressive and the photo chances are great.! By far my favourite ruins/temples in Latin America.! Also my last.!
I was heading to Cancun and then the pacific coast but all that can wait for next time:
Cancun: Mexico goes wild for their boxing hero, last night with Alex and Emma and the bank machine that likes to keep..
Peace out much love Micky xxx
