So where to begin, I'm 4 months in, seems just a few weeks but when you write it down it sinks in... 4months wow..!! I do miss all the lads and family but I can honestly say its easier as I'm having such a great time...
So Rio, I arrive after a small 14hour flight which was actually really good and easy... I have a taxi driver picking me up and he couldn't be anymore Brazilian if he tried, I imagined this guy I'm sure, or maybe I'm just a little jetlag... Anyway the first hostel is kool, the weather is hot and I'm ready to begin my adventures..!! Rio is hot, busy and fast... I take a walk looking for the delights of rio and find a KFC, well seems easy enough to order food, I try my best (which isn't good) Spanish only to be told they speak Portuguese here... Wow all the research in the world and I over look that major factor..!! Doh...
Day 2 sees a day trip to Christ redeemer statue, sugar loaf mountain and some crazy tiled steps... It's breathe taking to be at the top of the statue, professor snaps makes his first appearance of the trip and I enjoy the company of a few other back packers... The view from the top is nothing like the view from the bunny bank in minster but as I'm here I stop to take it all in... So the first of one of many of my top south American highlights...
Sugar loaf Is remembered "for me" as the famous site of the James bond movie, but obviously has more to offer than that...! Great views of copacabana beach very similar to those of minster cliffs and the leas, the women here are slightly browner than those of Sheppey but don't have as many scars... ;-) the cable car is simple and good fun, the weather is near perfect...
I spend the evening drinking in the favelas (shanty towns) an enjoy strange fishy side dishes... Tomorrow I have to check out the private room and into the dorms to no doubt share stories, pants, dirty towels, and anything else I'm stupid enough to leave lying on my bed... A day on the beach will help me coup with these dramas... ;-)
Also funny enough I hide some insulin in the toilet system, (to keep it cool) when I return to collect it it's gone... Great start haha, I later find out the cleaner handed it to reception thinking it some illegal substance... Lesson one (of many) never hide medicine in toilet systems...
So I'm starting this travel blog 4 months in, please don't take it too serious and please don't get too addicted to my stories, tales and adventures, I don't have all day to sit writing what I was doing when I am doing other stuff like eating, sleeping and being merry... ;-) just enjoy for it is, a laugh...
Next instalment:
Florianopolis and the humping dogs..??
Peace out much love, Micky xxx

Dave Great blog. I can see how the views would be similar to those on Sheppey....NOT but totally agree the woman to be better looking I mean youve seen Jo Jackie and Helen. Love the insulin tale but surely a fridge would have been better. Keep smiling m8 x
mickwoh Hahaha brilliant :-) thanks mate... Will try get up to date ASAP, it's hard because I don't want it to be serious but then you know me I'm never that serious... Miss you x
Joanne Davey Love it.. Makes good ready and beats what I'm having to sit through.. Why the hell would someone take your insulin? Bet someone thinks their onto a good thing... Im sure the women are lovely and have great sun tans at least they don't have to get it out of a bottle... Keep the photos coming they are great to look at.. That's going to cost a small fortune getting all them developed.. Hope professor snaps is having as much fun as you.. Looking forward to the next instalment xxx
Bex I didn't even know you had been doing this!!! Beats a diary any day! I'll be letting Big 8 bear have a read tonight hun! Keep it up... It brings the pictures to life xx
