Not a particularly good day. When I booked my excursion 'Kuala Lumpur on your own', the timings were 10:00 - 18:00. The timings were changed three times and eventually set at 7:45 - 15:15! The ship actually sailed about 16:00. When I went for breakfast in the Orangery there was water underfoot and it was raining gently in the Crystal Pool. In the event, it was overcast but humid and in the low 30's most of the day.
We were taken to KL and then told we only had 4 hours. There were no tickets for the Petronas Towers at suitable times, so that put the kibosh on that particular plan. The girls decided against walking to the KL Tower or the hoho bus, so we did a little shopping, I finally managed to find a t shirt I liked in Giordano, but still nothing in Uniqlo.
After that we followed the guides' advice and went to the market along a covered walkway. We couldn't find it! So we had an appalling lunch in an Irish pub and grabbed a cab back to the Towers to pick up the bus.
Back on board, I was looking at the Sailaway party on deck 8, from deck 12, when I heard my name called out. Henry was on deck 13. I joined him and inducted him into the delights of deck quoits. I wasn't wearing a hat and it was extremely hot. After the game, I went back down to the Pennant Bar and had my free glass of Sailaway champagne, which was given to me as I had reached Atlantic level in the Peninsular Club.
When I got back from my cabin after dinner there was a letter from the captain, outlining the piracy precautions and drill, that we will have to go through between 29 March and 9 April.
I went to bed, not feeling too good.
