Whitsundays sailing ended up being 24 of us on a boat called the Whitehaven. It was a good number, and we split straight away into english speaking and Germand speaking groups, about half and half. Food was good, scenery was awesome. Whithaven beach has to be one of the highlights, finest sand in the world apparently. Swam with Stingrays and Reef Sharks. Had a go at sailing the boat, hoisting the sails and that. Went snorkling in 3 different locations and looked at the coral and all the amazing fishes... it was actually like finding Nemo!
Next onto Townsville (bit dull) and a boat across to Magnetic Island. This was awesome! Spent a nice day lazing on the beach, then the second day my backpacking friends came and kidnapped me in a "mini moke" and we went exploring the island. Went to Radical Bay, Florence Bay (a bit more snorkling) and upton the fort on the highest point. I wish I was aware of all the walking we would be doing, as ended up covering over 12km in flip flops. Not cool, my feet are dieing a little! Also the clumsiest person ever and on teh last walk lost a flip flop, fell over and grazed up my knee. On the up side amazing scenery and spotted 5 koalas! Last thing we went on a rock Wallaby hunt, and fed them. They were so tame it wasn't really too much of a hunt! Apparently they like eating bread and fighting! Stayed at a really cool hostel, wich was just a hut really. Good day in all, felt like I have seen the highlights of the island.
In Mission Beach now, which is quite spread out so just spending one night here. Its famous for its skydiving but been there, done that ya know! Cairns tomorrow....onwards and upwards!
