11:15 got out of bed! Very tired from travelling yesterday And not having any sleep as I was busy being possessed by the devil most of the night! Told Annie and that was enough for her to decide we were leaving tonight!
Walked to Chinatown to find another guesthouse, ours is right past Little India so it's further from everything! A room here in this tourist filled guesthouse that lacks any culture or traditionalism is £8 a night but has wifi in the room, tv, air con which is very good! So we booked to come here tomorrow night instead! One more night in dooms ville! I love it though!
Went to eat breakfast at a restaurant on corner of little India! It was vile! No wonder it was only £2!
Then we went to exolore the town! Its such a pretty little well kept area, the town hall and adjacent church mark the centre of the town built around a water feature! The Venice looking river runs right infront of this so from here you can take the bridge to Chinatown or walk left for the historical area!
Today we chose Chinatown of course! History will still be there next week! ;) the little shops are so cute! Streets are filled with boutiques that sell clothes, souvineers, handicrafts you name it! Started buying some gifts to bring home today, I can't help myself!
Then we walked to a Deutch Fort that looks over the river! It's a replica of what once stood here before being destroyed and dug over! Uncovered only in 2002 when building work began on the Melaka observation tower when peices of the wall we're found! So building work stopped, and the tower was relocated further from the town centre much to the locals joy of not seeing the ugly thing! It's a revolving UFO looking thing which doesn't suit the unique, architectural look of this town!
Walked to Flora De La Mere, a museum inside a ship! I only wanted to see what it looked like, it had no great importance so I never even read anything inside it bored me! All the while I just wanted to go back to the boutique street and do some shopping!!
After walking around loads more cheap stores we went to try some local Melaka food! Had Cendol, pronounced 'Chen-Doll' this and the rice balls are Melaka's most famous! Cendol is long grain rice soaked in syrup made from Cendol leaf! It traditionally comes served in a bowl of coconut milk with red and black Berries, flavoured ice and sweet corn! What a random concoction I know, but one must try with an open mind! After a few mouthfuls it actually tasted really good it was just odd that its vegetables with fruit in milk! I can now say I've tried everything!
Tried to find beautification museum but it's still under renovation, it's been like this for two years now! Seriously it was the only museum I was interested in going to! Instead we got the nicest squeezed lemon juice on the way back, you have to squeeze the full lemons inside the sugar water yourself! For 30p I wonder if these stall owners are secretly very rich!?
The I sat and sunbathed on our private haunted terrace whilst writing 6 post cards! Post cards are harder than blogs to write because I have a limited amount of space! And I can't go through and edit them after! They all cost £1 and it costs another £1 to send them all, you lucky ones should be receiving them within a week apparently! We'll see!
Me and Annie both discussed life, our options, what were going to do where we're going to go there's that many different options and it affects other people too so we discuss it for an hour or two, get stressed And then go eat! Or drink, to relieve the stress! ;)
So we walked to the shopping mall which is outside of the small historical, culture filled houses of Melaka town and with all the grey concrete buildings that surround! It's huge inside! They have a Crocks shop! I never knew they made so many different types of Crock! They should all still be banned though, along with Chavvy Ugg boots!
Back to the room for another sleepless night with the poltergeist and the Teradactile which is still busy trying to naw it's way through the walls! thankgod we leave tomorrow, before it has time to break through! :/ will be sad to leave this charming little haunted place though!
We each took a photo next to the door in the corner with us in it to see if there were any orbs or anything next to us, and there actually is a light shining where there there's no light! I thinks it's that creepy little Samora Morgan girl from the ring!
