Made it to St Petersburg no problems. Spent 2 days on the trip, camping by the highway overnight in a rubbish strewn bit of forest.

On the way i met a russian guy from Moscow and a serbian guy riding to St Petersburg. I was meant to call them to meet up but before i had the chance i had bumped into them at a cafe anyway. This lead to a big evening with them and a bunch of their friends and much merriment. We rode out as a group of now 5 bikes to visit the former Tsar's summer palace which meant lots of eating and some time in some very beautiful parklands. We passed through a very heavey but brief ran storm and caught a ferry back towards the city. Fantastic couple of days with some great company. What a beautiful city this is too. Seems to me very european, amazing buildings, gardens and canals going through the city. Had some beuatiful weather to enjoy it all in too.

I think i will now head toward murmask tomorrow so be back on the highway and comofrtable in my tent again for the next little while. Hopefully the rain stays away for as long as possible!!!!
