ANCIENT GREECE
We spent the evening in Athens in the very nice Electra Palace Hotel, after having a wander through the Plaka district.
Earlier, we wandered up to the Acropolis at about 4:30pm, but, of course, it closed at 3pm. You lazy Greeks, no wonder your economy is shot.
We still got close enough to take some photos, and hey, we've 'seen' the Acropolis now...
I got a sticker, and some Fanta as well.
Back at the hotel we dined in style. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant with views of the Acropolis, which was cool. We both had the lamb, which was very nice, but so fancy that the servings were too small. I wanted to go a second helping, but thought better of it. The quality of the food was more than matched by the price tag.
We have to go to bed early as possible, as we have a very early flight to Singapore/Phuket (via Zurich... yeah), due to our original normal person's flight being cancelled a month or two ago thanks again to Greece's economy being epically stupid.
We had a real nice time all the same, but seriously Greece, get your sh!t together.
