The world down-under
Hi all: our first leg in Australia has already ended as we have now left Melbourne already. We are up North in Cairns near the Great Barrier Reef and starting from tomorrow we plan to become a bit more active by doing a range of activities, like scuba diving, hiking in the rainforest and potentially even sky-diving.
After having been in South East Asia it was a nice change to have a slice of home in the guise of Nick and James who we have to thank for their great hospitality and fantastic food and red wine! Oh yeah and for the accompanying hangovers as well.
So we have also uploaded some more pictures today: two albums still from Laos after last weeks Cambodia pics. There are still loads that we need to upload and fortunately the internet is very acceptable (in terms of performance, but not the rental fees).
The picture above is made in a supermarket in Siem Reap, Cambodia and for the (probably English) folks that don't know Bavaria beer: it is brewed/produced in the POB of the guy holding the bottle ....
We seem to be pre-empting the worlds disasters which fortunately we have been able to avoid. So after having missed the Bangkok airport fiasco and the Mumbai bombings we now have been able to avoid being affected by the Melbourne bush fires and Cairns floodings: our sympathies are with everyone that has been affected.
That's it from down under: keep your eyes on the site as we plan to upload a lot more SE Asia pics.
