Day 14
Today we met at the host school at 8am to meet the rest of the teachers and students from the school. The students joined their host students classes and experienced Visual Arts, English, Science and Engineering. Our students were not use to 1.5 hour lessons.
Later we walked through Wertheim to their local council where we were greeted by the representative as the Mayor was unwell and were told of some of the history of Wertheim (is pronounced as you would pronounce the following word - Vertime) the "W" sounds like the letter "V". Lachlan gave a wonderful speech in German - on our behalf - thank you Lachlan. We were given refreshments - huge pretzels and then made our way back to the school (by walk - 15 minutes). When we returned, we then visited a second and third lesson. The teachers observed a couple of lessons and some of the rooms. They have four teachers to a desk in their office, only three computers for the entire staff to use and still used blackboards - that's crazy - Mr Debrincat has got 2 desks and at times it is still not enough. School finished at 1pm today. Students went home with their hosts. Students will spend the rest of the afternoon and the weekend with their host families. We may see them in passing but we will officially meet up again at the school at 7.15am on Monday morning.
Signing off for 2 days - have a lovely weekend everyone.
