Day 11

Hello parents and friends. We all rested well to take on a massive day! We started the day having breakfast at 7.30 am to then leave at 8.20 am to catch a bus to do the Sound of Music Tour - Awesome!!! The hills are alive.... Did you know that the movie was based on a true story and that the real Florine Maria, when she married Captain Von Trapp they had 3 children together - they all ended up living in America after catching a train to Rome. The movie was filmed in many different locations. We saw so many familiar scenes from the movie. Wow!!! - It brings back so many memories for those that have seen the movie - another thing to add to the bucket list. This afternoon we went on a cable car to the top of the Austrian Alps 1776m above sea level. What a sight! We were able to touch snow. We are on the way to the city centre to check out the local sites prior to dinner. The kids had a great day today. Tomorrow we are making our way to Germany - approx 6 -7hr bus trip - Yippee - NOT! (Bus trips = travel sickness).
