Dear Diary (09/12),

Travelled to Wanaka stopping a couple of times for some brekkie, a walk, lunch & a few photos.

Arrived in Wanaka in blazing sunshine, therefore after checking into hostel we all headed down to the lake for a swim & sunbath. Did some diving off a jetty which turned into a compo for the boys! Was challanged to a swimming compo by Matty our superfit bus driver, well it was for a 12 pack of beer!! 500m swim to a bhouy & back. It didn't seem that far from land. I didn't win but did complete it. I loved the fact I challenged myself again.

Wanaka is such a lovely place, snow capped mountains overlooking the lake. Would be a lovely place to spend more than just 1 day. Had a great BBQ in the evening & a few drinking games - my fav was Roxanne. This was our best night out to date!
