Dear Diary (15/12),
Left for Christchurch, which was a blessing as Queenstown was killing me & not sure for how much longer I could have survived.
Stopped at Lake Pukak, which has the most amazing blue water due to the glacier finely crumbling the mountain rocks. It was such a lovely day that you could see My Cook in the background, which is quite rare.
Also stopped at the Church of the Good Shepherd, which is set in one of the most beautiful & peaceful places I have been to. It over looks a lake & the mountains & was just stunning in the sun. Saw a picture of church & surrounding area covered in snow & it was the perfect xmas card picture.
Arrived in Christchurch about 6pm & met up with some others who had got there the day before.
Was in the bar at 9.30pm & by 10.30pm we were all ready to call it a night (I even started falling asleep holding my pint!!). However Neil decided to leave our fate to a flip of a coin, bed or jager bombs! Well if I tell you that we ended up at a karoake bar, sang about 5 songs, went in for a dancing competition, rode a bunking bronco & played Deal or No Deal in an arcade until 5.30am, you came figure out how that flip went - that bloody coin!!
(16/12)
Had a chilled out day just wandered around Christchurch (the centre is like any town in England). Caught up on some much needed sleep, but actually felt worse for it when I did wake.
Being a sunday & no Kiwi bus coming in from Queenstoen, it was very quiet out, so took advantage & had an early night - was in bed about 12.30!
