Ooooooooh, time for next update! I apologise in advance because it's a lot about BEACHES!!! and i know it's cold back home but i've gotta brag a wee bit :)
soooooo on Monday we decided to go to Bondi Beach but was a tad cloudy in the morn so we just had to go shopping instead (terrible i know) and there was this huuuuuge shopping centre that we went to-they're everywhere!! the shopping will be the death of my money.
anywhooo, beach stuff, so we got to the beach around 2ish and was still cloudy, so naturally we were highly unimpressed BUT as if the weatherman above could hear us the clouds parted and the sunshine came out, and boy was it hot!!! so after 15mins i was already a bit pink, so slapped on the factor 50! then in eve we went out in the eve to the club down the road, which was fuuuuullllll of backpackers-was quite a laugh, altho the music is about 6months behind us!!
the next day (suffering a tad) we thought, why not go to the beach again?! perfect hangover tool, so with that in mind we headed off the the INCREDIBLE manly beach, which you reach by ferry and I LOVE IT THERE! it's so clean and nice, bondi kinda reminded me of margate (only the surfers/lack of chavs made it nicer) but manly was another world! the shopping street leading to the beach consisted of roxy, billabong, surfection and soooo many other amazing shops-i wanted to buy so much (but actually resisted!) and the beach was white sands, blue sea=amazing! didn't do too much swimming tho coz there were lots of jellyfish about. after that we headed back to hostel for a big night out-we all had our faces painted and headed into town for a very, very entertaining night out!!
(wow this is long, didn't realise how much i'd done!) and yesterday, i met up with belle and we went and had lunch and pottered around newtown (kinda like camden) had yet another icecream (it's now part of my staple diet) before going swimming-the outdoor pools are absolutely looovely :) and managed about 30/40 mins swimming before my knee started aching so was quite happy :)
and so TODAY-finally got there!! we went to the ZOO!! which is kinda on it's own island and is sooo big! saw all the usual animals along with KOALA BEARS-which are the cutest things eveeer, and kangeroos-didn't realise how freakishly long their legs are?! but after long day walking we came back and a few of us girls went to the thai next door and it was one of the best meals i've ever eaten-me thinks i might go back!! after that we wandered down to darling harbour (see main picture) which has lovely bars and restaurants which are (shock horror) on the harbour, and then had another icecream before tottering back!
oooh internet is going to die soon sooo that is my mass update, i'll put some photos up soon, but a lot of them are already on facebook!!
