So im back in Luang Prabang. After Champasak i caught the ferry back to Nakasang and then a local bus to Pakse, i wasnt keen to be going back there but it was ok went to the top of the Pakse hotel had a beer and looked at the view then had a curry at Jasmines and early night. Next onto Savanaket again by local bus , I was the only Falang and it was an ok journey with stop offs to wee in the undergrowth and to buy bags of live locust/crickets and didnt fancy it myself so opted for bbq banana instead .Savanaket for one night was ok but you need to do a trek or something i think and there were none going out as im still in low season so i opted to go on to Tha Kaek the next day.Another local bus this time i had to clamber over bags of rice in the aisle and squeeze into a good spot near the back . Tha Kaek is a nice town on the Mekong with views of Thailand and a great sunset ,again i thought i was the only falang until i spotted a bloke sat on his own so went and joined him we had a good laugh with the locals and went to the disco boat (just us and a Laos pop band !) and then sang Karaoke even the locals looked embarrased as i belted out American Pie. Next day not feeling to special lazed about and read a book.\, at about 7pm a knock on my door made me jump out my skin and a voice said `did i please have a minute to spare ` so next thing i know im sat down with about 20 Laos kids of about 10/15 all giggling for an impromtu english lesson which i thought was it, then i was put on the back of the teachers bike and escorted by the kids all on their own mopeds in a convoy styly to their class rooms. I had a great time and it made the day extra in Tha Kaek worth the hangover !.So now as i started im back in luang Prabang i decided on an internal flight here to avoid another 2 days on buses which im so glad i did. Managed to loose over a hundred photos so had a cry about that. and im off to Hanoi tomorrow. Just to finish on Laos , it is the most stunning country and the people are still kind helpfull and unaffected by western maladies i would defo come back and spend more time here i have really loved it and im a bit sad to be leaving here, but Halong Bay is calling x
