So we arrived in hippy land and were crammed into a small minibus to take us to the arts factory. While staying here we were sleeping in a teepee which we liked although stu was less fond of the hairy caterpillars.
We did the bush tucker walk on our first day with Cockatoo Paul and his cockatoo - he taught us how to get water from a tree, he made us eat hibiscus leafs which were not nice and taught how to make our own anti mosquito lotion as well as moisturisers from various plants.
We walked round the cape (the most easterly point of Oz) and went up to byron Lighthouse where we read lots of stories Merle told about people who had died up there. We then walked back through the rainforest and saw the hugest of monitor lizards! Stu prevented Mel from getting too close as she tried to take a photo!
We went to the Buddha Bar Cinema where you get to lounge on the floor with giant cow covered cushions and chairs. Here we saw the Devil wears Prada - which was ok but not as good as the book. I think Meryl Streep requested they made her character more loveable than in the book so people didnt hate her!
In the evening we joined forces with a couple of kiwis to do the the quiz at the bar and surprisingly came 3rd! Again!
We spent the whole of today by the pool waiting for our 9pm bus! Despite smothering himself in factor 30 Stu is a little bit pink for the first time this trip!
Now off to Cheeky moneys for $5 meals for dinner before the bus,
Love from the place which openly runs "tours" which have the sole purpose of collecting illegal substances from a local hippie town!
