This morning the kids went on a horse ride around the camp ground. Isla rode Rose and Kade rode Mr. T, then Cal rode Albert and Paddy rode Mr. T. They rode all by themselves without the instructor holding on. In the afternoon Nick and the kids went for a swim while Sal went on horse ride out into the station. I got a great view of the Cockburn Ranges. It was very relaxing.

Today we travelled from Drysdale Station to Home Valley Station. We have set up camp next to the Pentecost River (with the saltwater crocodiles). There are at least two massive crocs that live here - around 5m long. Dad has nicknamed them "Tiny" and "Spike". The river is a tidal river so when we pulled up it was almost empty but by bed time it was right up to the bank. We have a spectacular view of the Cockburn Ranges. What a beautiful spot. We decided to take on the drive to Mitchell Falls as a day trip and took off at 6:00am. The road to the turn off was a bit rough, but the road into the falls (79km) was the worst we have been on so far, it took about 2 hours. Once we got there we walked started the walk. First amazing place on the walk was the top of Little Mertens Falls, no water running over it but breathtakingly high just the same. Next we came to Big Mertens Falls, again no water but eve...

This morning we walked to Manning Gorge, it was quite a long hot walk so luckily we left early. The first part of the walk involved crossing the river in a little boat that we pull across using a rope. The gorge and waterfall were beautiful and much taller than what the photos show. Our first stop today was Bell Gorge. The walk took us to the top of the waterfall and we looked down over the edge into the gorge below. We then continued on around the rocks to the bottom of the gorge and jumped in for a swim - it was actually quite warm, even the under the waterfall was warm.
