I woke up early in the morning (with yet another hang over), in order to get a quiet swim before everyone else got to the pool. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one with this plan. So... I decided to head down to the beach with Leo, a guy I met on the bus. We were going to take a massive swim to the beach next door, however as soon as we got in the water we were attacked by a swarm of ticks. Having got home at 3 in the morning, we spent most of the day recovering. I got up around 10 and met some cool 30ish guys and girls from leeds and oz. They'd met in Cambodia and decided to go around together. Using the hair-of-the-dog technique to cure the hangover (essentially, just drinking more), we spent the rest of the day chilling by the pool and the sea just recovering from the previous night. At about 6am in the morning, the nice, relaxed bus journey came to an abrupt stop and everything went mad. The following happened in the space of 1 minute: The lights came on on the bus A Thai woman came upstairs shouting "Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Pengang etc..." We woke up early and had a walk around the city. We got a nice European continental breakfast before going to the big river. Then, on the way to the Grand Palace, we caught a Tuk Tuk and had our our own personal chauffer for a few hours for 40 Baht (70p). We flew into Bangkok this afternoon and took a taxi to Koah Sam road - a place full of backpackers and hostels. We stayed in the 4 Sons hotel (full of Israelis!) and checked in. Later in the evening we had a stroll up Koah Sam road and grabbed a drink.
