I woke up early in the morning (with yet another hang over), in order to get a quiet swim before everyone else got to the pool. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one with this plan. So... I decided to head down to the beach with Leo, a guy I met on the bus. We were going to take a massive swim to the beach next door, however as soon as we got in the water we were attacked by a swarm of ticks. We ran out, screaming in agony whilst these ticks were still clinging on to us and spent the next few hours by the pool.
In the afternoon, I hired a bike and drove Emma to Koh Maa - a beautiful island just off of the mainland. When there, I ran into the Devon girls. They went off snorkling... but could be heard screaming moments later realising that they were swimming over a bed of thousands of jellyfish... as well as being attacked by ticks all over their body (as well as their faces!) On the way back, we took a detour to have a look around the island. Whilst travelling down a beautiful straight road surrounded by forest and waterfalls, we hit a pothole. My shoes (which were sitting in the basket on the bike) went flying 20 metres into the air narrowly missing a car going in the opposite direction. Driving that bike was amazing - something I can't wait to do again in Laos!
The evening was spent drinking by the pool. Joe (the barman) made some fantastic Long Island Iced Teas before taking us to the Moon Set Party on Pirates Beach. It was a mediocre party and we all left early, getting back at 3am.
